The Area - Nerja on the Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol is the most popular of the Coastal regions with an average of 340 days of sunshine per year. Situated only 50kms from Malaga, and within 1 ½ hours drive of Granada, Nerja is perfectly situated, but still retains its unspoiled charm, and there are many great restaurants where the local fish is cooked to order. Join the local families to sample the vast paellas that are cooked at the beach bars on Burriana on Sunday lunchtimes!!!

Close by the Caves of Nerja are spectacular and should definitely be on your sightseeing list!! – In the winter months a couple of hours drive into the Sierra Nevada mountains will enable to you to enjoy the snow capped mountains and to do some skiing as well!!
Nerja offers over 13kms of beaches, including the international famous Burriana beach, below the apartments, that has once again been awarded the coveted Blue Flag by the European Union.


A short walk from Nerja, close to the beautiful town of Maro (boasting a friendly residential parrot), is the 19th century Eagle Aquaduct, a breathtaking structure that once supplied water to the nearby Sugar Factory, or San Joaquin Sugar Mill. Though long since closed, it is still possible to trek across the fields to get a closer look at San Joaquin (well worth the effort!).
